It appears that Jacob's father Rudolph was a wheat farmer and also raised hens for sale as to pay for taxes. It appears that Jacob took over his fathers farm upon Rudolph's passing sometime near 1800 in the present location of West Taghkanic.

The following records indicate that near the time of Rudolph's passing, Jacob was paying on his father accounts.
